Prep Roundup: Norcross boys stay unbeaten with win in Kentucky

LEXINGTON, KY. - Star senior Gani Lawal had 27 points and 10 rebounds to help Norcross defeat Bryan Station (Ky.) 76-62 in the Nissan on Nicholasville Shootout in Lexington, Ky. on Friday.

Al-Farouq Aminu scored 19 points and had 11 rebounds while Jordan DeMercy had 12 points and seven rebounds. With the win, Norcross is now 11-2 on the season.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Meadowcreek 94, South 81

NORCROSS - Chris Allen, who came into the game averaging 24.4 points, led Meadowcreek with 42 points and 10 rebounds to help the Mustangs cruise past South Gwinnett 94-81 on Friday. Dwayne Robinson added 10 rebounds for Meadowcreek as its record improves to 10-2 overall.

Wesleyan 39, Paideia 35

NORCROSS - Erik Strong scored 19 points to help Wesleyan push past Paideia 39-35 on Friday. Wesleyan is now 12-3 overall and 6-0 in region.

Parkview 62, Grayson 50

LILBURN - Yaw Gyawu scored 23 points for Parkview to help push the Panthers past Grayson 62-50 Friday night.

John Block added 15 for Parkview, which improved its record to 9-3. Bo Amusa scored 13 for Grayson.

Shiloh 59, Berkmar 53

LILBURN - Andre Mikel scored 17 points for Shiloh to help the Generals cruise past Berkmar 59-53 on Friday.

Wesley Witherspoon scored 18 points for Berkmar. Shiloh is now 8-4 overall.

North 48, Duluth 42

DULUTH - Adam Demuyakor scored 13 points to help North Gwinnett top Duluth 48-42. Ebuka Anyaorah scored 11 for North as its record improves to 10-5 overall and 5-2 in region. Greg Carson scored 14 for Duluth, while Dexter Bledsoe added 12.

Mill Creek 77,

Collins Hill 36

SUWANEE -Spencer Gay scored 27 points and had 12 rebounds to help Mill Creek top Collins Hill 77-36 and improve its record to 7-8 on the season.

Jermaine Jackson added 22 points for Mill Creek.

Peachtree Ridge 70,

South Forsyth 52

SUWANEE - Zach Graham scored 23 points and had nine rebounds to help lead Peachtree Ridge to a 70-52 win over South Forsyth. Eddie Brown scored 15 points and had seven assists while Kevin Anderson had 13 points for Peachtree Ridge. Cameron Heyward added 10 points and had 15 rebounds to help Peachtree Ridge improve its record to 13-2 overall and 6-1 in the region.

Buford 92, Creekview 36

BUFORD - Izaan Cross scored 15 points to help Buford defeat Creekview 92-36 on Friday. Terrance Birdette scored 13 points while Isiah Cross and Jakar Bridges each scored 10 points for Buford. All of Buford's 16 players scored to help improve its record to 11-0.

Hebron 49, A.I.S. 34

DACULA - James Floyd scored 21 points and had six assists to help Hebron top Atlanta International School 49-34 on Friday.

Ben Cohen had 12 point and 17 rebounds as Hebron improves its record to 3-8.

Providence 80, Galloway 57

ATLANTA - Andy Vess scored 18 points to help Providence defeat Galloway 80-57 and improve its record to 10-2.

Jesse Meier had 14 points while Tyler Johnson added 12 points for Providence.

Greater Gwinnett 71, Hamilton Heights 50

NORCROSS - Greater Gwinnett's J.D. Davis scored 26 points to help defeat Hamilton Heights (Tenn.) 71-54 and improve its record to 13-3. Edward Jackson scored 17 points and had 10 rebounds for Greater Gwinnett.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Berkmar 66, Shiloh 58

LILBURN - Gabby Harvey led Berkmar with 19 points to help defeat Shiloh 66-58.

Tyra Smith scored 14 points while Mariah Richardson had 11. Kiara Evans and Brittany McDonald each scored 10 as Berkmar improves its record to 11-1.

Jessica Baker scored 20 while Amanda Parker and Brooke Lane each scored 11 for Shiloh.

Duluth 46, North 42

DULUTH - Daphne Adebayo scored 16 points to help Duluth top North 46-42.

Ravven Brown added 15 points for Duluth to help improve its record to 10-4 overall and 4-3 in region. Stephanie Wheeler scored 13 points for North.

GAC 56, Pace 27

NORCROSS - Kiara Swanier scored 12 points for GAC to help top Pace 56-27 on Friday. D'Nay Daniels added 11 points and GAC's overall record is now 13-1.

Buford 57, Creekview 27

BUFORD - Victoria Peevy scored 13 points for Buford to help top Creekview 57-27 and improve its record to 7-4.

Kelly Tucker added 11 points for Buford.

Wesleyan 69, Paideia 42

NORCROSS - Wesleyan's Anne Marie Armstrong scored 26 points and had eight assists to help the Wolves push past Paideia 69-42 on Friday.

Sarah Delk scored 26 points and had 10 rebounds, while Chantel Kennedy had 11 points and eight steals. Wesleyan's overall record is now 13-2 and 6-0 in region.

Hebron 70, A.I.S. 29

DACULA - Meredith Montgomery scored 19 points to help Hebron defeat Atlanta International School 70-29. Courtney Odum scored 13 points and had eight assists while Britt Pecht scored 12 points for Hebron. Olivia Clark added eight points and had 10 rebounds to help Hebron improve its record to 8-2.

Providence 47, Galloway 13

ATLANTA - Caroline Adams scored 10 points and had five rebounds to help Providence top Galloway 47-13.

Julie Jordan scored nine points and had six rebounds for Providence.

Hamilton Heights 50, Greater Gwinnett 44

NORCROSS - Michelle Smith scored 26 points, had four rebounds, five steals, four assists and five blocks for Greater Gwinnett but the Barons fell to Hamilton Heights (Tenn.) 50-44 in overtime.

Nicole Bramlett had 10 points, six steals and three assists for Greater Gwinnett, which is now 6-8.
