Buford City Schools will receive proposals until 3:00 p.m. on January 12, 2007 for Construction Management at Risk for Additions and Renovation to Buford Elementary School, Buford Academy, Buford Middle School, and Buford High School; construction of a new Multipurpose Building and a new Central Office. Construction on the first project is scheduled to start in the winter of 2007 at Buford Academy.

Facilities Relocation

The City of Buford is soliciting separate sealed bids for the relocation of a 4-inch steel high-pressure natural gas main, a 4-inch polyethylene natural gas main, and other related gas facilities located along Old Fountain and Old Peachtree Roads. Bids will be received by the City of Buford at City Hall located at 2300 Buford Highway, Buford, Georgia, until 10 A.M. local time, January 8, 2007 and then publicly opened at said office and read aloud.

The project generally includes the installation of approximately 800 linear feet of 6-inch steel natural gas main, 1,200 linear feet of 4-inch steel natural gas main, 1,900 linear feet of 4-inch polyethylene natural gas main, natural gas services, line valves and other appurtenances. Most of the new facilities will replace existing facilities that are in conflict with Gwinnett County Department of Transportation Road Improvement Program Project No. M-0053. The location of the Work is in the vicinity of the intersection of Old Fountain Road and Old Peachtree Road, south of the City of Buford.

No proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by satisfactory evidence that the Bidder holds Georgia State Contractor's License of proper classification and in full force and effect, in compliance with Act. O.C.G.A. 43-14. Contractor must be a qualified natural gas contractor under the laws of the State of Georgia and must comply with any Federal, State, and City guidelines and regulations.

"C" Conference Room: The furnishing of all labor, materials, and services necessary to perform the construction of Upper North Cluster Elementary School until 3:00 p.m. local time, Thursday, January 18, 2007 . All bidders must submit AIA Document A305 Contractor's Qualifications Statement to be evaluated by the Owner and Architect along with bid deposit prior to being issued plans and specifications. Bidders who do not submit the A305 Statement will be subject to disqualification. The A305 must show the Contractor's ability to complete the Contract in a satisfactory manner on projects of similar scope and complexity. References from past clients and projects must be included and will be verified. As part of the pre-qualification process, a mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at Gwinnett County Board of Education, 53 Gwinnett Drive, Lawrenceville, GA 30045, Building "C" Conference Room on Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. Failure to attend the Pre-Bid Conference shall result in disqualification of the bidder. Representative shall be Project manager or Estimator directly responsible for the bidding of this project. Any bidder may be required, at the discretion of the Owner, to furnish evidence satisfactory to the Owner that his proposed subcontractors have sufficient means and experience in the types of work called for to assure completion of the contract in a satisfactory manner. Any bidder that is disqualified may respond to the Owner in writing within 20 days of the Notice of Disqualification as to why the bidder feels that the disqualification is unfounded. The written appeal from the disqualified bidder will not change the decision already made on this project. However, a favorable appeal may open the way for the bidder in question to bid on future Gwinnett County Public School System projects.

The full amount of deposit for each set will be refunded to each General Contractor who submits a bona fide bid and upon return of all issued sets bound in good condition, in the proper order, complete and free of all markings, within 30 days after date of opening of bids.

Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the Contract Sum, will be required of the successful bidder and from successful Mechanical/HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Protection, Steel Erection and Roofing Subcontractors.

Each Bidder shall accompany his Bid with a signed certificate from a surety company acceptable to the Owner, stating that such surety will provide the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, with required bonds. Labor and Material Bonds will also be required from the successful Bidder.

A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Subcontract Sum, will be required from the following Subcontractors entering into contracts with the successful Bidder: HVAC/Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Sprinkler, Structural Steel Fabricator, Steel Erector, and Roofing.

The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners is soliciting competitive sealed proposals from qualified consultants for the CROOKED CREEK WATER RECLAMATION FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT for the Department of Water Resources. Proposals must be returned in a sealed container marked on the outside with the RP# and Company Name. The "Proposal Fee Schedule" is to be submitted in a separate envelope, clearly marked with the proposal number, company name and titled "Proposal Fee Schedule." Proposals will be received until 2:50 P.M. local time on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the Gwinnett County Purchasing Office, Third Floor, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30045. Any proposal received after this date and time will not be accepted.
