Man found dead at Duluth apartment complex April 19, 2014

Alvy R. (Pete) Thacker, age 75 of Snellville, GA, passed away Monday, January 1, 2007 at St. Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point, IN of heart failure and pneumonia. He was born on March 19, 1931 to Richard and Monie Thacker in Norwood, OH. He was a chef by trade. He worked for the Atlanta Falcons Football team for fifteen years. Before that he cooked for the Waffle House. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Jane Thacker; two sons, Dan and Jeff; two daughters, Cathy Kennedy and Terri Quinn; 8 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; 1 sister, Millie (Elmer) Greather; brother-in-law, Bernie Meyer; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Friday, January 5, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church in Loganville, GA. Cremation will precede the memorial services. Burns Funeral Home, Crown Point Chapel in charge of arrangements. Pete will be missed by many friends and loved ones. He always had a story or a funny joke to tell.
