LAWRENCEVILLE - Three men were arrested this week in Lawrenceville and charged with attempting to grow and sell marijuana.
According to a criminal arrest warrant, Eduardo Rodriguez-Ibarra, 43, and Jose Felipe-Bruno, 35, of Hialeah, Fla., along with Jorge Gonzalez-Sanchez, 36, of Cape Coral, Fla., were growing marijuana at 2350 Friars Gate Drive in Lawrenceville. After searching the residence, officers found 34 pounds of the drug and multiple marijuana plants, an irrigation system, buckets filled with the growing plant, hydroponic beans and a lighting system for the plants the warrant said. Rodriguez-Ibarra, Felipe-Bruno and Gonzalez-Sanchez fled from officers when they arrived at the home, but Rodriguez-Ibarra and Felipe-Bruno were later arrested about midnight Tuesday, said officials. Gonzalez-Sanchez was arrested at 11:54 p.m. Monday, according to the detention center admission docket. Gwinnett County Police Department spokesman Cpl. Darren Moloney confirmed the men were arrested, but he was unable to release specifics concerning the men's arrests. "Investigators tell me this is part of an active investigation and cannot provide anything further," Moloney said. All men were taken to the Gwinnett County Detention Center and remain at the jail with no bond. Each man is charged with felony trafficking marijuana and felony manufacturing marijuana, according to the arrest warrants.More like this story
