Cammie Clarinda Sammon Martin, age 83, of Augusta, Georgia died on Sunday, February 25th, 2007. Born August 28, 1923 in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Cammie was the daughter of Frank Quill Sammon, Sr. and Cammie Lee Hutchins. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Florence Sammon Teat, Frank Quill Sammon, Jr. and Alvin R. Sammon. She is survived by her daughter, the joy of Cammie's life, Clarinda Nell Duncan of Augusta and several nieces and nephews. In recent years Cammie has resided at Lake Crossing Health Care in Appling, Georgia, and before that at St. Johns Towers in Augusta. She was a member of Evans Presbyterian Church where she was very active, serving as a Deacon, and as the church's pianist for over 20 years. She also volunteered her musical talents for the Annual Veterans Fourth of July Ceremony at the Signer's Monument, the Rescue Mission, Inner City Services, the Augusta Stockade prison ministry, Easter Sunrise Services, and accompanied the Singing Saints of St. Johns Towers. She volunteered at Grace Wood School and served as the Director of the Women & Children's Dormitory at the Augusta Rescue Mission. A graveside service will be held at Shadowlawn Cemetery in Lawrenceville at the F.Q. Sammon, Sr. plot on Tuesday, February 27th, 2007 at 1:00 PM. Cecelia McCurdy Davidson, known to her friends as "Cile", passed away quietly on February 23rd, surrounded by members of her family and her devoted caregivers at her home in Kingstree, South Carolina, after a long and courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS). Mrs. Davidson, a native of Decatur, Georgia, was born on February 28, 1929. She graduated with the Class of 1950 from the University of Alabama, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. While at Alabama, she was named "Miss Alabama" and led the Crimson Tide's famed "Million Dollar Marching Band". After graduation from Alabama, Mrs. Davidson returned to Atlanta, where she enjoyed a successful career as a photo and runway model, appearing in numerous fashion shows and print ads for companies such as Rich's, BellSouth and Coca Cola. Mrs. Davidson was active in numerous civic and charitable organizations including the Dekalb Junior League, of which she served as President and for which she helped establish its primary fund-raising arm, the Dekalb Hospital Gift Shop. In addition, Mrs. Davidson was an avid golfer and ALTA tennis player. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Davidson is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles L. Davidson, Jr., and their four children, Chip, Rob and Reid Davidson, all of Atlanta, and Leigh Davidson Connolly of Kingstree, South Carolina, three daughters-in-law, Donna Davidson, Cristy Davidson and Stephanie Davidson, one son-in-law, Duffy Connolly, and eleven grandchildren. Mrs. Davidson will be cremated in Kingstree, and the immediate family will hold a private ceremony at the Davidson's home in Highlands, NC. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held in Atlanta for friends and extended family at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 23, 2007 at Northside United Methodist Church.
