Cammie Clarinda Sammon Martin, age 83, of Augusta, Georgia died on Sunday, February 25th, 2007. Born August 28, 1923 in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Cammie was the daughter of Frank Quill Sammon, Sr. and Cammie Lee Hutchins. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Florence Sammon Teat, Frank Quill Sammon, Jr. and Alvin R. Sammon. She is survived by her daughter, the joy of Cammie's life, Clarinda Nell Duncan of Augusta and several nieces and nephews. In recent years Cammie has resided at Lake Crossing Health Care in Appling, Georgia, and before that at St. Johns Towers in Augusta. She was a member of Evans Presbyterian Church where she was very active, serving as a Deacon, and as the church's pianist for over 20 years. She also volunteered her musical talents for the Annual Veterans Fourth of July Ceremony at the Signer's Monument, the Rescue Mission, Inner City Services, the Augusta Stockade prison ministry, Easter Sunrise Services, and accompanied the Singing Saints of St. Johns Towers. She volunteered at Grace Wood School and served as the Director of the Women & Children's Dormitory at the Augusta Rescue Mission. A graveside service will be held at Shadowlawn Cemetery in Lawrenceville at the F.Q. Sammon, Sr. plot on Tuesday, February 27th, 2007 at 1:00 PM.
