Perennial plant group to present garden seminar

•The Georgia Perennial Plant Association will present a seminar, "Designing Hydrangea Heaven with Penny," from Sandra Jonas at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 20 at the Atlanta History Center, McElreath Hall, 130 West Paces Ferry Road, Atlanta. During the seminar, which is part of the Georgia Perennial Plant Association's monthly meeting, Jonas will speak about designing the late Penny McHenry's hydrangea garden. Garden aims

to give kids a green thumb

•Atlanta Botanical Garden will offer "Young Sprout: Springtime in the Garden" classes from March 1-29. The five-session instructional program for children ages 3-5 and their parents will feature hands-on activities, storytelling and garden tours. The classes are held at the botanical garden, 1345 Piedmont Ave. NE, Atlanta. Classes are $55 per child for non-members, and $45 per child for members.
