O'Rourke M.D., 75, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at the Holzer Medical Center. He was born on Jan. 16, 1932 in Buford, Georgia to the late Willard and Farris Poole O'Rourke. He graduated from Buford High School in 1949, obtained his bachelor degree from Emory University in Atlanta and his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Donald was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force where he was a flight surgeon. He served on the faculty of the Medical College of Georgia in the OBGYN department prior to coming to Gallipolis. Dr. O'Rourke came to the Holzer Medical Center in 1967 and was in the OBGYN department for 30 years and was clinical instructor for Ohio State University Medical School. He was a member of the Fellow of American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology; Fellow of American College of Surgeons; American Fertility Society; Past President and member of Gallia County Medical Society, a long time member of the Gallia County Historical Society and Grace United Methodist Church. Surviving are four children, one daughter, Molly O'Rourke of Bogota, Columbia, three sons, Gene (Lisa) O'Rourke of Amelia, Ohio, Bruce (Lee) O'Rourke of Raleigh, NC, and Mike O'Rourke of Jordan, Minnesota; seven Grandchildren, Abigail, Emily, Garrett, Brady, Nathan, Reese and Chase; one sister, Nanette Cross of Buford, Georgia and two nephews, Wayne Cross of Ball Ground, Georgia and Sterling Cross of Buford, Georgia. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007 at the Grace United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Bill Thomas officiating. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Estelle Francis and brother, Harold Francis. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Francis of Lilburn; son, Zachary Francis of Athens; sisters and brother-in-law, Carol and John Blakley of Knoxville, TN, Shirley Heath of Knoxville, TN; father-in-law, Woodrow Needham of Loganville; sister-in-law, Christy Needham of Loganville; several nieces, nephews and extended family. Mr. Francis was a loving husband, father and brother. He was employed with Atlantic Sheetmetal, Inc. for 29 years as a sales manager. WHEELER, JENNIE Jennie Rainwater Wheeler, age 86, of Lilburn, GA beloved mother, mamaw, sister and friend died on her 65th wedding anniversary, February 7, 2007 to join her husband, Sim Wheeler. Jennie retired from Treasure Island, JC Penny in 1986. Her passion was cooking, sewing, and gardening. She was a caregiver to all who knew her. Jennie leaves behind two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Tommy Hill of Lilburn, Jan and David Williams of Monticello; son and daughter-in-law, Sim and Lynn Wheeler of Norcross. Also surviving are six grandchildren and their spouses, Tommy Hill of Grayson, Stephen and Jennifer Hill of Grayson, Dawn Wheeler Payne of Lawrenceville, Jeremy and Kim Williams of Perry, Jennie and David Cook of Monticello, Justin Williams of Monticello; eleven great grandchildren; two sisters, Emily Bentley and Ruth Smith.
