CROUT, ROGER

Roger Lee Crout, 66, passed away on February 1, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with pulmonary disease and cancer. Roger was born on August 16, 1940 in Hatch, New Mexico to Jesse and Cordie (Caudell) Crout. The Crouts later moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he attended Phoenix Schools. In 1973, Roger married Cyndie and together they made their home in Yuma, Arizona. Roger worked as a field entomologist for the State of Arizona Agriculture Department. When Roger's job relocated the family, they found themselves in Parker where they raised their son and called Parker home for the next 28 years. Roger was well respected by the local farmers, and his peers throughout the State of Arizona. He is most remembered for his diligent work in eradicating the boll weevil in Parker Valley, Western Maricopa County and Scottsdale. He retired from the State due to pulmonary disease. Following his retirement, Roger was able to work on his antique cars which was one of his favorite hobbies. He was also able to keep beautiful flowers for everyone to enjoy. Roger and Cyndie recently relocated to Sugar Hill, Georgia to be with their son and his family, but Roger's heart will always be in Arizona. Arizona was the true time , and it remains on his watch today. Roger is survived by his wife, Cyndie, his son, Stephen, daughter-in-law, Sharon, and his pride and joy grandson, Christopher, of Sugar Hill, Georgia; and his extended family and many friends. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Stanley. Please remember Roger in your hearts when you are enjoying the desert and all its beauty. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a Hospice Center of your choice, in Roger's name. Condolences may be sent to the Crout Family at 754 Weller Path, Sugar Hill, GA 30518. Arrangements by Junior E.
