NORCROSS - Police arrested a Norcross man Monday on charges of rape and aggravated child molestation.
Erik Leonel Lopez-Gomez, 25, is accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl, said Cpl. Darren Moloney, the spokesman for the Gwinnett County Police Department. The girl notified her mother about the attack, and the mother called the police, Moloney said. Lopez-Gomez was not a stranger to the girl, Moloney said. The Post does not identify victims of sexual crimes. Lopez-Gomez was booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center at 4:14 a.m. Monday. He has been denied bond. Police continue to investigate the incident, Moloney said.More like this story
