DACULA - A 19-year-old man was shot Monday in Dacula and police say they are working to determine how the incident began.
Gwinnett County officers responded to reports of shots fired about 5:38 p.m., said Cpl. Darren Moloney, Gwinnett County Police Department spokesman.
Officers arrived at 2891 Hill Circle finding at least three people inside a Dodge Neon in the yard of the residence, including the wounded man.
Investigators believe the shooting did not take place at the Hill Circle address but are unsure where the man was shot.
According to a press release issued by Moloney, the victim was seriously injured and life-flighted to Grady Hospital in Atlanta.
He said the victim's medical condition is unknown and his name was not being released at press time Monday because the man's family had not been contacted.
Investigators believe the 19-year-old and the shooter or shooters know each other, and investigators are pursuing leads to determine exactly where and how the shooting began.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Gwinnett County Police Department at 770-513-5300.
