LAWRENCEVILLE - Three Gwinnett County men remained at the DeKalb County Detention Center Friday for charges related to the murder of Thai Nguyen of Chamblee.
Dy Thuc Dang Nguyen, 20, of Lawrenceville, Tuan Phan, 23, of Doraville and 17-year-old Tu Van Huynn of Lawrenceville allegedly beat Nguyen outside Linda's Restaurant at 4646 Buford Highway in Chamblee on Jan. 15. He died the next day at Northside Hospital as a result of his injuries.
Stacey Bourbonnais, spokeswoman for the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office, said Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Squad deputies arrested Dy Thuc Nguyen at his mother's home on Sever Woods Drive about 9 a.m. Monday.
Phan was also arrested Monday as he was leaving a friend's house on Marble Springs Drive in Lilburn.
Huynn turned himself in at the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office Tuesday.
"We received information that the suspects possibly lived in Gwinnett County and we made the arrests," said Bourbonnais.
Nikki Jones, spokeswoman for the DeKalb Sheriff's Office, said all men were charged with the murder of the 25-year-old man.
According to a police report, Nguyen, Phan and Huynn left beaten Nguyen outside the restaurant and friends of the victim took him to their DeKalb County residence.
They later called 911 after realizing Nguyen was not breathing properly. The victim was transported to Northside Hospital nearly an hour after the incident and died Jan. 16 after being taken off of life support at the request of his family.
Bourbonnais said they believe the beating is possibly gang related and additional men may have been involved.
