Meadowcreek boys, South girls lead Tipoff Club honors

The top two teams in Region 8-AAAAA - the South Gwinnett girls and the Meadowcreek boys - received the top honors from the Gwinnett Tipoff Club for January.

The two programs were named teams of the month, while the coach of the month honors went to their coaches, South's Mike Allison and Meadowcreek's Billy Davis. South (19-2) is currently riding a 19-game winning streak and is ranked No. 3 in the state. Meadowcreek (20-2) is off to the best start in school history and is ranked No. 2 in Class AAAAA.

The club also named its players of the month, featuring some of the county's best. The athletes and coaches will be honored at breakfast today at the Wesleyan School.
