Carson E. Melvin, age 70 of Monroe, GA died February 2, 2007. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marlene Melvin; sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Mollie Melvin of Covington, John and Maria Melvin of Suwanee; brother, Joseph Melvin of Grand Saline, TX; grandchildren, Caitlin, Olivia, Julia, Joshua, Caleb; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Melvin was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired from the State of Georgia as the Director of the State Merit System's Flexible Benefit Program and was a member of Camp Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 5 at 2pm at Bethany Primitive Baptist Church with Elder John Melvin and Elder Marty Smith officiating. Graveside services will be held at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens with Elder Lonnie Mozingo officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 until 5pm at the funeral home.
