•LAWRENCEVILLE - Two Lawrenceville residents were displaced from their home on Luke Lane Thursday morning after a garage fire.

The two were home at the time but escaped the home without injuries.

Gwinnett County Fire Department spokesman Lt. Thomas Rutledge said the fire was started by fireplace ashes discarded too close to the home.

Crews contained the fire to the garage, but the couple was not able to return to the home due to a power outage.

Teen carjacked

•SNELLVILLE - An 18-year-old Snellville man told police Monday his vehicle was carjacked while he drove along Block Norris Lake Road.

According to a police report, the man was waved down by three Hispanic men. One of the men pointed a gun at the teen driver and demanded he get out of the vehicle.

The men fled in the victim's red Ford F-150 after the driver ran from the area.

Men steal Xbox

•NORCROSS - Two men believed to be in their 20s stole a Xbox 360 from Game Stop at 6050 Peachtree Parkway on Tuesday.

According to a police report, two black men asked the store's assistant manager with help purchasing the game.

The two fled the store, Xbox in hand, while the employee looked for an other game the men requested.

The Xbox was worth about $400.

Teen charged

with assault

•WINDER - A 17-year-old boy was arrested near Winder-Barrow High School for simple assault after he allegedly slapped another teen.

Two teenagers were walking along the sidewalk Jan. 19 when the 17-year-old approached and asked the couple for a cigarette. When the boy said he didn't have one, the 17-year-old allegedly slapped him across the face. Three people told Winder police officers they witnessed the reported assault.
