Nannie Connell Embry, 86, cherished mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2007. She was predeceased by her parents, John Jefferson and Mary Essie Connell, her husband, Noel Columbus Embry, seven brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold F. Hall (Linda), and her grandchildren, Noel Christopher Hall and Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Scott Hall (Lesley), and three great grandchildren, Madeline Rose Hall, Ethan Edward Hall, and Jackson Alexander Hall and her nieces and nephews. Nannie graduated from Avondale High School and was the valedictorian of the class of 1937. She was employed for 27 years by Ralston Purina and retired from the Avondale Mall Sears and Roebuck. She was a past member of the Mountain View Eastern Star and a lifelong member of North Clarendon Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted mother and a friend to all. The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff and owners of Ashton Hall Assisted Living, where Mrs. Embry resided for the last five years, and to VistaCare for their hospice service. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 11:00a.m. at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel with Dr. Lamar Holley officiating. Interment will follow at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, 770-277-4550.
