WINDER - A jury in Barrow County Superior Court on Wednesday found an Auburn man guilty of child molestation.
Donald Ray Westbrooks, 48, was found guilty of one count of aggravated child molestation and three counts of child molestation. He will serve 10 years in prison and 30 years probation. Westbrooks has been held without bond since his Sept. 13 arrest. Auburn police Detective Michael Fugett said the investigation began July 12 when the case was forwarded from Walton County officials. While investigating the charges, detectives discovered the second victim. Both victims are 5 years old, Fugett said. Westbrooks pleaded not guilty. Nine witnesses testified against Westbrooks during the two-day trial that wrapped up Tuesday afternoon. No one testified on his behalf.More like this story
