Coast Guard Seaman Tyler Wilson, son of Pam Wilson of Loganville, recently graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard recruit Training Center in Cape May, N.J.

During the eight-week training program, Wilson completed an academic training curriculum and practical instruction on water safety and survival, military customs and courtesies, seamanship, first aid, firefighting and marksmanship.

Army reserve Pvt. Jonathan G. Howland, brother of Kimberly Monahan of Buford and Jennifer Myers of Lawrenceville, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

During his nine weeks training he studied the Army mission, history, tradition, core values, military justice system and military courtesy, as well as physical fitness training, basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare, bayonet training, drill and ceremony, field tactics, first aid and marching.

Navy Seaman Tyrone A. Thompson, son of Lolita Sanders of Lithonia and Tyrone Thompson of Stone Mountain, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill.

His training covered classroom and practical instruction on Naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, shipboard and aircraft safety and physical fitness.

Thompson is a 2007 graduate of Miller Grove High School in Lithonia.
