DAVENPORT, Fla. - Norcross jumped out to any early lead and never looked back in the first round of the Amare Stoudemire Classic on Wednesday.
The two-time defending state champions led 29-13 after the first quarter and cruised an 81-44 victory. Wake Forest signee Al-Farouq Aminu led the way with 28 points. Denzail Jones had 22 points and A.J. Hawkins added 12. Tarriq Muhammad had 11 assists for the Blue Devils (6-0). BOYS BASKETBALL Dawson County 69, Providence 56 DAWSONVILLE - Dawson County defeated Providence 69-56 on Wednesday. Carter Rice scored 18 points and Jesse Meier 11 for the Stars (1-7). Zach Cook led Dawson County with 21 points GIRLS BASKETBALL Providence 57, Dawson County 47 DAWSONVILLE - Caroline Adams led Providence to a 57-47 victory over Dawson County on Wednesday.
