Victim arrested after being robbed by man dressed as a woman
NORCROSS - A Norcross man looking for a little love got more than he bargained for over the weekend.
According to a police report, 27-year-old Antonio Garcia of 1700 Treehouse Parkway left Fiesta Billiards with what he believed to be a female prostitute, but when the pair reached a Norcross apartment where their deal was to be consummated, Garcia found the woman to in fact be a man.
The report said Gwinnett police discovered an extremely intoxicated, partially unclothed Garcia inside an apartment at the Wyndcliff Pines complex on Graves Road after a resident reported what they thought were gunshots fired.
Garcia could only describe the man as a male in woman's clothing. The alleged cross-dresser reportedly took Garcia's money.
Police arrested Garcia, charging him with loitering and violation of a county ordinance.
Woman arrested after foil and shoes found in purse
DULUTH - An Atlanta woman was caught outside a Duluth sports store with more than $200 worth of merchandise inside her purse. The purse was reportedly equipped with a self-made contraption to defeat the store's security alarm.
According to a police report, Altovise Vanessa Love of 707 Casplan St. allegedly entered a dressing room inside the Sports Authority on Steve Reynolds Boulevard on Saturday with a pair of shoes and exited without them.
Security attempted to stop Love in parking lot where she sprayed a loss prevention agent and two employees with mace.
The trio was able to stop the woman and confiscate her purse, finding three pairs of shoes inside as well as aluminum foil and duct tape, reportedly used to defeat the store's security system.
Love was arrested, charged with shoplifting and transported to the Gwinnett County Jail.

Duplex fire displaces two
LAWRENCEVILLE - Two people escaped a Norcross duplex Tuesday afternoon when a fire broke out in the home's attic.
The blaze caused extensive damage to the attic of one unit in the 2000 block of Terrace Club Court in Norcross, said Gwinnett County Fire Department spokesman Capt. Thomas Rutledge.
Two adults were home at the time, and both escaped unharmed after reporting the fire at 2:55 p.m., Rutledge said.
"The fire appears accidental and may have been caused by a fire burning in the fireplace," he said.
Firefighters had the blaze under control in about 20 minutes. An adjoining unit was not damaged, Rutledge said.
Firefighters contacted the Red Cross to provide assistance to occupants in both units because power was cut to the entire building, Rutledge said.
