SUWANEE - Two men were arrested Friday after police discovered the makings of a marijuana greenhouse - along with up to 10 pounds of pot - in the U-Haul truck they were driving.
A Buford man, Hung Nguyen, 35, and his alleged counterpart, Phuol Pham, 33, of Orlando, were booked Friday at the Gwinnett County Jail. The could face felony charges of manufacturing marijuana and trafficking marijuana once more search warrants are executed, said Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman. Gwinnett police were asked by DEA officials to stop the U-Haul, which had been under surveillance. Officers located the truck and stopped it at the intersection of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Suwanee Dam Road. Investigators found between seven and 10 pounds of marijuana inside, along with growing materials such as aluminum lighting and irrigation equipment. Spellman wasn't under the impression the drugs were actually grown in the vehicle, she said.More like this story
