NORCROSS - The FBI is searching for a black man suspected of robbing a bank Friday morning in Norcross.
Investigators say the lone gunman entered an Iron Stone Bank on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard with a semi-automatic handgun at about 11 a.m. He demanded that bank employees and customers get down on the floor, then jumped over a teller counter and began gathering money, according to an FBI Atlanta release. The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. FBI investigators describe the suspect as a black man, 160 to 180 pounds, about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He wore a black skull cap, black bandanna and sunglasses. Witnesses saw the man leaving the area in a gray or silver mid-'90s Chrysler mini-van. The vehicle had a handicap placard hanging from the rearview mirror, the FBI said. Witnesses also saw a red dye-pack explode in the front area of the van as the suspect drove away. The FBI asks anyone with information about the robbery to call investigators at 404-679-9000.More like this story
