Leaders at Hebron Christian Academy broke ground recently for the latest addition to the academy's high school campus.
Dignitaries, students and parents gathered for a ceremony Nov. 14 to break ground for the new Science and Technology building. The 32,000-square-foot building, which will cost $3.2 million to construct, is scheduled to open in the fall of 2008 to provide additional space for the school's growing enrollment. "It will have rooms dedicated to each of the sciences: seventh- and eighth-grade science, chemistry, physics, biology and physical science," said Scott Smith, president of Hebron Christian Academy, in a press release. "Each room will have a lecture area and a lab area - it will be a totally comprehensive room. It will be a great situation for our kids to develop a Biblical world view as they study science." Elementary students at Hebron also recently honored family members and friends who have served in the military as part of a Veterans Day event. More than 40 veterans and active-duty soldiers attended, including World War II veterans as well as three soldiers who recently returned from service in Iraq. The students entertained guests by singing patriotic songs, including "Spirit of America," "We Remember" and "God Bless America."
