LAWRENCEVILLE - Officials have planned a traffic shift today for the Ga. Highway 120 widening project.
If weather allows, traffic will be moved to newly constructed lanes from Sugarloaf Parkway to Warren Morrow Road, according to a press release. "By scooting traffic over we will have room to work on the 'old' lanes of (Ga.) 120," Georgia Department of Transportation spokeswoman Teri Pope said in the release. "Please slow down and give yourself extra time to travel through the work zone as conditions are continually changing. Remember that all fines are doubled in a work zone." Construction on the 2.59-mile widening from Riverside Parkway to Sugarloaf Parkway is expected to be complete by June 30. The project has an estimated cost of $15 million.
