Woman robbed, sexually assaulted
Norcross resident is 3-months pregnant

NORCROSS - A pregnant woman was robbed and sexually assaulted inside her Norcross apartment Friday, according to a police report.

Three Hispanic men pushed their way into the woman's home at the Country Club apartment complex on Medlock Bridge Road shortly before 9 p.m.

The 33-year-old woman told police she answered the door thinking it was her brother but instead found a Hispanic man armed with a gun.

All three found their way inside, but one remained with the woman resident, pressing a gun to her head and demanding jewelry and money.

Though the woman handed over the necklace and a pair of earrings she was wearing, the man pushed her to the floor and began stepping on her stomach, the report said.

While she begged the man to stop, he again stepped on the woman's stomach using more force then drug her to the kitchen and sexually assaulted her.

After taking the woman's wallet and two cell phones, all three men fled.

According to the report, the woman is three-months pregnant and was reportedly checked on scene by Gwinnett County Fire Department emergency personnel but refused transport to a hospital.

Gwinnett County police filed the report Friday and department spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman said the case is in the process of being assigned to an investigator.

Spellman said additional information about the incident would not be available until the investigation had time to run its course, giving authorities time to question possible witnesses and neighbors.

According to the report, the victim's sister was in the apartment at the time but was in the bathroom and ran to call police when she heard her sister screaming. She told police all three men were wearing black clothing, but could not provide any further descriptions of the intruders.

The assaulted woman told police the man who attacked her had a lizard or iguana tattoo on his neck or upper shoulder. She believed the men may have left in a beige Lincoln Navigator.
