Blaze starts in basement; cause unknown
NORCROSS - It is undetermined what caused a fire in the basement of a home in Norcross on Sunday morning.
According to a Gwinnett County Fire Department press release, firefighters located the blaze in the basement of the home on Strasbourg Court and were able to contain the fire to the room.
The residents evacuated without any injuries.
Vacant home in Duluth burns
DULUTH - Fire authorities are investigating what caused a fire at a vacant home in Duluth on Sunday morning.
Fire crews found a small frame house on Apartment Drive fully involved in flames when they arrived about 6 a.m., a Gwinnett Fire Department press release said.
Firefighters operated quickly to knock down the bulk of the flames and extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire is undetermined.
Woman's car, purse stolen
LILBURN - A Lilburn woman's Honda Accord was stolen Friday from the parking lot of a Lilburn CVS on Beaver Ruin Road.
The woman was getting out of her car when a black man brandished a handgun demanding she hand over her purse and keys, a police report said.
The man wearing a black stocking cap, black jacket and pants drove off in the car, leaving the woman stranded at the business.
Boat stolen from Snellville man's dock
SNELLVILLE - A man's boat was stolen from a boat dock on his property last week.
According to a police report, the broken boat, which had no battery, was discovered missing from the dock on Lake Drive in Snellville on Dec. 4.
The boat is a gray, 14-foot, fiberglass Jon Boat.
