Cause of fire unknown

LAWRENCEVILLE - Fire officials are investigating what caused a fire at an outbuilding Friday afternoon.

Crews were dispatched to 62 Ramble Wood Trail in Lawrenceville at 1 p.m. and found the burning building, a Gwinnett County Fire Department press release said.

Flames spread to a nearby mobile home but were quickly extinguished by firefighters.

According to the release, occupants inside the mobile home were not injured.

Thieves take tools, cash

DORAVILLE - Tools and money were stolen from a Doraville automotive business Tuesday, a police report said.

Someone entered the Chief Muffler and Brakes on Buford Highway through a rear glass door, taking about $40, a battery charger and miscellaneous tools.

Thief flees with money

DULUTH - A Duluth business was robbed Sunday as an employee opened the cash register to preform a transaction.

According to a police report, the Casa Latina Inc. employee opened the drawer to give a Hispanic man his change when he grabbed cash from the register and ran from the store, which is inside the Santa Fe Mall on Venture Drive.

The employee described the man as having a mustache, wavy hair and missing a front tooth.

Teen charged with shoplifting

DULUTH - A Duluth High School student was cited with shoplifting from a Target store on Venture Drive Wednesday.

A loss prevention agent reportedly observed 17-year-old Shakea Brister of Norcross picking up two CDs, going into a dressing room then returning the items to a shelf, according to a police report.

Gwinnett police were called when the agent discovered the CD cases were empty.

Police found the CDs in Brister's purse upon searching her.
