DULUTH - Police are looking for two men who beat a female employee during an attempted robbery Monday morning at a Duluth Taco Bell.
Duluth Police Department Capt. Mark Hunter said several employees were at the fast food restaurant on Pleasant Hill Road preparing to open the business when two black men wearing masks and armed with guns approached an employee near the rear of the restaurant about 10:30 a.m.
"One of the employees opened a back door preforming normal duties," Hunter said. "Two black men with masks, both armed, jumped him at the door and pushed him back inside."
According to Hunter, one employee was able to leave the store and call 911 while the men remained inside demanding the remaining employees open the safe.
According to department press release, an employee was beaten by the men when she told them she could not give them access to the money.
The employee suffered a laceration to the back of the head and injuries to the face, the release said. According to Hunter, the employee was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center - Duluth for treatment.
Both men fled without any money before police arrived.
