Woman indicted in flipped car case
Child left upside down for one hour in vehicle

LAWRENCEVILLE - A Gwinnett County Superior Court grand jury indicted a woman this week on charges of abandoning a child in an overturned vehicle.

Lyndsy Christine Green, 24, of Winder, faces first- and second-degree cruelty to children charges for the May 1 incident. The child was allegedly left upside-down in the vehicle for an hour.

Green was found intoxicated in a nearby parking lot, according to the indictment released Thursday.

Green is also charged with public drunkenness and reckless driving, after she allegedly drove her vehicle down an embankment and into trees, causing the car to flip. She was found intoxicated in the parking lot of the River Sound Apartment complex in Lawrenceville, the indictment says.

Green faces at least five years in prison if convicted of first-degree cruelty to children, according to Georgia law. She is expected to be arraigned within a month.

Green was released on $5,600 bond from the Gwinnett County Detention Center, according to a jail representative.
