Two file papers for Berkeley Lake election

LAWRENCEVILLE - Berkeley Lake will have an election in November, after two candidates filed paperwork to run for City Council during the last day of qualifying for the city.

Ross Anderson and Frank Lombardi tossed their hats into the ring Thursday along with Rebecca Spitler for council, while Mayor Lois Salter is unopposed for another term.

The qualifying period will end today for several Gwinnett cities.

In those, Thursday's filings included Bruce Garraway, a Snellville councilman who is now running for mayor.

Two people also entered the fray in Sugar Hill. Heath Galbraith will face Marc Cohen on November ballots, while Susie Gajewski qualified to run for the seat currently held by Clint Thompson.

In Norcross, former councilman Craig Newton will stage a comeback, running against Terry Bowie.
