Peak 10 hopes to open data center by late Sept.

NORCROSS - Peak 10 Inc. recently made its first hire for a new data center in Norcross and is now looking to hire 15 to 20 more employees in a relatively short timeframe.

Matt Searfoss was named the company's Atlanta regional general manager Wednesday and is already at work trying to build a staff.

Searfoss, along with a Peak 10 development team, has begun accepting applications and interviewing for sales, operations, engineering and support positions.

The company hopes to have the data center operational by the end of September, which will require aggressive hiring to get the necessary staff in place.

"We're going to take the time to get the right people, but we're pushing to get the hiring done as quickly as possible," Searfoss said.

David Jones, CEO of Peak 10, said the company is looking for applicants with solid experience and a solid work ethic.

"We are looking for people who are going to roll their sleeves up and get in there," Jones said.

Jones could not specify a salary range the positions would be in, but he said the pay would be competitive. He said the salaries, especially for sales positions, could vary greatly because of different levels of experience and different commission amounts.

The Atlanta data center is Peak 10's eighth in the Southeast and the company's second new market in 2007. Jones said all of the data centers are full-service and fully staffed.

"It is a complete operation meaning Matt really runs a business, not a branch," Jones said.

Searfoss has more than 20 years of experience in Atlanta's information technology industry.
