Robbers tie up woman, steal keys

NORCROSS - Three men reportedly tied up and robbed a woman at her Norcross apartment Monday morning.

According to a police report, the 26-year-old woman was in her bedroom when she heard noises coming from the living room and discovered three men in her home at the Barrington Chase Apartments on Oakchase Drive.

One of the men pointed a black semiautomatic handgun at the woman while the other two tied her up using a stereo wire, the report said. The man put the woman and her baby into a bathroom while they rummaged through the apartment.

The men took the woman's cell phone and apartment keys, the report said. She told police she thought the men may be friends of her husband's cousin.

29-year-old robbed at bus stop

NORCROSS - A man's laptop was stolen as he sat working at a bus stop near his Norcross home, according to a police report.

The 29-year-old told police he was at the bus stop at 3500 Peachtree Corners Circle when he was approached by a man armed with a blue steel pistol.

The robber demanded the computer and the man's wallet and fled.

The victim told police the man was wearing black clothing and red driving gloves.

Statham restaurant suffers damage

STATHAM - An afternoon fire Wednesday damaged the Old House Restaurant, 2025 Atlanta Highway S.E. in Statham.

The fire broke out at 5:45 p.m. and burned the interior and exterior walls from the floor to ceiling. Barrow County firefighters kept the fire contained to the front of the building.

The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental. No further information about its cause was available.
