This was a remake of "Body Snatchers," but where were the Pods? I did enjoy the movie, but I'd recommend waiting for the DVD. There was very little gore, but it was a more of an alien movie than a scary movie. Nicole Kidman must not have many offers lately. She plays the part, but the storyline still needed a little bit of a boost. I'm glad I saw it for my own curiosity, but I wouldn't want to sit through it again - and it's only an hour-and-a-half long.

This is the fourth, and the least creative, remake of Jack Finney's novel "Invasion of the Body Snatchers." The film had some good action scenes using modern special effects, but there were very few surprises. Similar to the other three versions, the writers take advantage of the basic story to inject a topical statement in the background of the main plot. This time it's Iraq and Darfur. The 1978 version with Donald Sutherland and Leonard Nimoy was much better because they concentrated more on the original story. Nicole Kidman did a great job, though, as did Daniel Craig, and their acting almost saved the movie for me.

We are being invaded, but no one can really tell if you act like a zombie and are good at making eye contact. This idea took away some of the tension that would have made the movie more exciting. The director must have realized this, because he was not consistent with the notion. The story is interesting and the acting pretty good. Although the movie didn't feel like it dragged, it also didn't quite feel like it ever reached full speed. This is a film worth watching as a rental if you like science-fiction movies.
