NORCROSS - Gwinnett police are seeking help from the public in their search for a black male who has a habit lately of breaking into Norcross residences and fondling sleeping girls.
Police said Tuesday that an investigation has linked at least three incidents of burglary and molestation in Norcross apartment complexes on Singleton Road and Jimmy Carter Boulevard near Britt Road. All three incidents have occurred within the last week, said Gwinnett County Police Department spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman. "An unknown suspect has been entering apartments through open windows or doors and fondling girls while they are sleeping," said Spellman in a release. The suspect has a pattern of entering apartments between 11:30 p.m. and 2 a.m., Spellman said. He has been described by victims as a black male, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, and between 140 and 160 pounds. He could possibly have a goatee and curly hair, said Spellman. The suspect was further described as wearing dark pants and blue jeans. Police are requesting that Gwinnett residents "take extra measures to ensure that their doors and windows are locked and secure at all times," Spellman said. Gwinnett Police and Robbery Task Force personnel will be actively patrolling all areas linked to the alleged serial molester, Spellman said. Anyone with specific information regarding the case is urged to call the Gwinnett County Police Criminal Investigation Division at 770-513-5300.More like this story
