BUFORD - A Dacula man died Wednesday morning when he lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown onto Interstate 85.
Police said 26-year-old Kevin James was traveling north on I-85 when he was ejected from his vehicle near the Hamilton Mill Road exit and was struck by a tractor-trailer traveling along the interstate. The driver of the truck was not injured, but James was pronounced dead at the scene. Gwinnett County Police Department spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman said the accident remains under investigation and it is unknown at this time what caused James to lose control of his 2001 Honda motorcycle. According to a Police Department press release, neither alcohol nor drugs appear to have been a factor in the accident. No charges have been filed against the driver of the tractor-trailer and none are expected, according to the release.More like this story
