LAWRENCEVILLE - One ramp closed by the major reconstruction of Interstate 85 and Ga. Highway 316 reopened to traffic Wednesday.
The entrance ramp from Boggs Road to Ga. Highway 316 eastbound was opened before the afternoon rush hour. The ramp had been closed since March 9 so construction crews could lengthen the Boggs Road bridge over the highway. In the future, the exit ramp from Ga. 316 east to Boggs will close so that the other side of the bridge can be extended, according to Georgia Department of Transportation spokeswoman Teri Pope. Also Wednesday, traffic on Boggs Road was shifted from Breckinridge to Satellite boulevards. "Just slow down, pay attention and follow the signs and barrels and you will be fine," she said.
