BUFORD - Two people surrendered to police Sunday after the county's SWAT team was called out to assist in their arrests.
Rhonda Lynn Travis, 43, and her boyfriend, 34-year-old Robert Charles Glover, refused to leave the Buford home they were in with Travis' 5-year-old son, police said. Cpl. Illana Spellman, spokeswoman for the Gwinnett County Police Department, said Travis' mother called police because both Travis and Glover had felony warrants for their arrest. Travis was wanted for theft charges, and Glover was wanted for a probation violation. After a robot was deployed at the Sunnyview Lane home, the Flowery Branch couple surrendered, Spellman said. She said they did not have permission to be in the home and may face additional charges. The homeowner was not at the house at the time of the incident. Both were transported to the Gwinnett County Detention Center and the boy was taken to a family member, Spellman said.More like this story
