Dena Michelle Cook and Richard Brooks Whetstone III were married June 2 aboard the Island Princess on Lake Lanier Islands. The Rev. Marty Parker officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Fred (Parker) Cook of Flowery Branch and Dale Cook of Flowery Branch. She is a graduate of Brenau University in Gainesville, where she received a degree in early childhood education. She is pursuing a master's degree in reading and literacy. She is employed by Gwinnett County as a first-grade teacher. The groom is the son of Rick and Judy Whetstone of Lancaster, S.C. He is a graduate of York Technical College in Lancaster, S.C., where he received a degree in mechanical engineering. He is employed by Embraco North America in Suwanee as a engineer. After a honeymoon in Destin, Fla., the couple now resides in Jefferson.More like this story
