'Roseanne' star has baby girl
LOS ANGELES - Sara Gilbert has given birth to a baby girl.
The 32-year-old actress, who played surly teenager Darlene Conner on the hit ABC sitcom 'Roseanne,' welcomed her daughter, Sawyer, on Aug. 2, according to Variety.
Gilbert's publicist, who confirmed the birth, didn't provide further details.
50 Cent says he'll quit solo career if rival outsells him
NEW YORK - 50 Cent believes his new album will outsell Kanye West's upcoming disc, and he's betting his solo career on it.
Both 50 Cent and West have albums due out Sept. 11. 50 Cent, who has sold better than West in the past, has been riled by forecasts that sales of West's 'Graduation' could rival those for his 'Curtis' CD.
'Let's raise the stakes,' the 31-year-old rapper told hip-hop Web site SOHH.com in an interview posted Friday. 'If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I'll no longer write music. I'll write music and work with my other artists, but I won't put out anymore solo albums.'
Mr. Big to return in movie version of 'Sex and the City'
NEW YORK - Mr. Big and Carrie Bradshaw will be together again, this time on the big screen.
Chris Noth, who played Sarah Jessica Parker's love interest on HBO's 'Sex and the City,' is slated to reprise his role in a feature film spun from the long-running TV series.
Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon will also reprise their roles for the romantic comedy, to be distributed by New Line Cinema in association with HBO.
Wife of Pavarotti says conditionn is improving
ROME - Luciano Pavarotti was doing better Friday after he was admitted to a hospital in northern Italy with a fever and was expected to be released 'in the coming days,' his wife said.
The tenor, who underwent surgery for pancreatic cancer last year, has been hospitalized in his hometown of Modena since Wednesday. The 71-year-old's condition was described in a medical bulletin Thursday as 'satisfactory.'
