Man charged with DUI
NORCROSS - Police discovered a man's damaged vehicle stopped in the middle of Steve Reynolds Boulevard on Tuesday morning. When police approached the driver, 32-year-old Alberto Jarquin of 5259 South Norcross Road in Tucker, he admitted he did not have a driver's license and had drank six beers before driving, a police report said. Police discovered Jarquin had wrecked his car, which struck a road sign before it came to a halt in the middle of the road. No other cars were involved. Jarquin was arrested and charged with DUI, hit-and-run and duty upon striking a fixture. Man says check stolen from mail SNELLVILLE - A Snellville neighborhood has been the victim of mail theft, a police report indicates. A Snellville man reported someone removed a letter from his mailbox on Marjorie Road sometime Saturday or Sunday, stealing a check worth nearly $500. The man said similar incidents have occurred in the neighborhood in the past. Police capture man who escaped WINDER - A man who absconded from his work release detail July 31 is back in jail facing an additional charge of escape. Timothy Dale Maloch, 38, of Pendergrass was picked up in Hall County earlier this week. Warrants were obtained for his arrest after he left his work place at Riverhawk Boats. Maloch is in the Jackson County jail. Once he returns to Barrow County, he will serve the remainder of his original sentence, plus face a charge of escape, Barrow County Sheriff's Capt. Michael Katsegianes said. Maloch was serving time for child support related charges.More like this story
