NORCROSS - Authorities have identified a man shot to death Monday morning at a Norcross apartment complex.
Enrique Patino Ibarra, 44, of Norcross was fatally shot while walking Sixta Ciriaco Clase to her home at the Steeple Chase apartments located at 5926 Singleton Road shortly after 1 a.m., according to Gwinnett County Police Department spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman. Spellman said Clase and Ibarra were approached by a black man brandishing a gun. She said the pair noticed the man following them and when they turned to face the man he demanded Clase's purse, keys and cell phone. It is still unclear if anything was taken from Ibarra in the robbery. "We're still looking to find that out," Spellman said. Police said Clase ran from the commotion and heard gunshots as she headed for a neighbor's apartment to call 911. Spellman said authorities arrived to find Ibarra with a gunshot wound to the chest. The shooter is described as a dark-skinned black man who at the time was wearing a light-colored baseball cap and shirt and black, baggy pants. The man is believed to be approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall.More like this story
