LAWRENCEVILLE - A man was trapped inside his vehicle Monday morning after a collision with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 85 north in Lawrenceville, authorities said.
According to a Gwinnett County Fire Department press release, firefighters found the man's vehicle partially lodged beneath a tractor-trailer shortly after 10:30 a.m. The man's name has not yet been released. Firefighters freed the man from his mangled car and transported him by ambulance to Gwinnett Medical Center in serious condition. Authorities said the driver of the tractor-trailer was unharmed. Gwinnett County Police Department spokeswoman Cpl. Illana Spellman said the department's Accident Investigation Unit was called to the scene, but investigators had not released a report for the crash as of press time Monday. According to a release from the Gwinnett County Fire Department, four left lanes of the interstate were closed Monday morning while the crash site was cleared.More like this story
