Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Wafford Knouse, “Lib”, 83, died Friday, August 03, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center.  She was born in Davie County on January 18, 1924 to the late William and Annie Howard Wafford.  Mrs. Knouse was a member of Trinity Moravian Church.  She was the owner of Bonnie's Lunch in Winston-Salem prior to working for Sears where she retired with 30 years of service.  Mrs. Knouse will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed her family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene.  Surviving are her children, Bonnie Sale and husband Raymer of Dacula, GA., Bill Knouse and wife Brenda of Pfafftown and David Knouse and wife Linda of Homestead, Fla.; six grandchildren, Raymer Sale III, David Knouse Jr., Chrystal Praytor, Shane Sale, Randy Knouse and Courtni Karshagen; five great grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Poole of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Alma Wafford and Bobbi Knouse both of Winston-Salem; nephew, Billy Wafford; niece, Leslie Brewer and several other special nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. David Merritt and Rev. Will Watson officiating.  Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.  The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at Palliative Care and IMU 2 at Forsyth Medical Center.  They also want to thank the staff and residents at Independence Village for their friendship and love.
