Gas leak shuts down Braselton Highway
DACULA - A gas leak at Prospect Church Road in Dacula caused authorities to close parts of Braselton Highway in both directions Thursday morning.
Lawrenceville Gas was called to the scene to stop the leak after a construction crew hit a 2-inch gas line.
The leak was stopped in a little more than an hour, according to Gwinnett County Fire Department spokesman Lt. Thomas Rutledge.
No injuries or evacuations were reported.
Police looking for video store robbers
LILBURN - Lilburn police are looking for two men who robbed a Blockbuster video store Thursday.
According to a police report, two black men entered the store shortly after 10 a.m. aiming small black handguns and demanding the manager lock the front door and open the store safe.
The men took an undisclosed amount of money from the safe and cash register then fled.
The men are believed to be in their late teens or early 20s. Both wore jeans, T-shirts and baseball caps.
Pair beat man, rob him and companion
DULUTH - Two people were robbed in the parking lot of Gwinnett Place Mall Sunday, a police report said.
Two black men approached the 22-year-old man and began hitting him with a gun, eventually breaking his nose. The men demanded the man's and a 20-year-old woman's wallets and cell phones then fled in a sliver Ford Focus.
