SNELLVILLE - Jason Dodson and Michael Moller were both 2-for-3 as Central Gwinnett topped Parkview 5-4 on Friday.
Steven Currie (2-3) got the win on the mound, pitching 61⁄3 innings, giving up three earned runs off nine hits and striking out six. Zac Bui, Lance Whatley and Nick Blount each went 2-for-4 and Brett Teschner was 2-for-2 in the win. Sean Handlan got the save for Central (14-8, 5-4). Curtis Keegan (1-for-4) homered for Parkview while Theo Asher (1-for-3) added an RBI double and Brandon Jacobs (1-for-3) had an RBI. Zach Cone went 1-for-3 with a run scored for the Panthers (15-9, 6-4). BASEBALL Norcross 15, Duluth 0 NORCROSS - Forrest Garrett and Taylor Rakes combined for a three-inning no-hitter to lead Norcross past Duluth 15-0. Peter Poole went 2-for-2 with a double and a triple and three RBIs and Darius Hanks went 2-for-3 with a double for the Blue Devils (14-8, 9-4). Shiloh 4, Central 1 LAWRENCEVILLE - Eddie Mathis' two RBI double in the seventh gave Shiloh its lead and pitcher David Grno did the rest as Shiloh downed Central Gwinnett 4-1. Grno (2-3) pitched a complete game, giving up just two hits, one run and striking out nine for the Generals (10-13, 4-6). Matt Johnson and Vince Wood each had two hits for Shiloh. Mill Creek 6, Forsyth Central 3 CUMMING - Carl Schaefer went all seven innings in Mill Creek's win over Forsyth Central 6-3. Schaefer (3-1) gave up five hits and struck out five for the Hawks. Denver Stovall was 1-for-4 with a two-RBI triple and Vinny Tornillo went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs for Mill Creek (13-11, 10-4). Grayson 17, Berkmar 3 LILBURN - Marc Ellist and Josh Halford each went 2-for-4 with two RBIs as Grayson downed Berkmar 17-3 in five innings on Friday. Chris Meredith (2-1) picked up the win in three innings of work, giving up no earned runs, while Matt Milligan was 3-for-3 for the Rams (15-8, 7-3). North 13, Peachtree Ridge 3 SUWANEE - North Gwinnett jumped on Peachtree Ridge early, scoring seven runs in the first inning, and then cruised to a five-inning 13-3 win. Josh Blum (7-0) pitched four innings and gave up just five hits and two runs to get the win. Justin Rahm, Christopher Hawkins and Travis Echols led the offensive charge, each going 2-for-3. Jim Moreland was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Mitch Rider was 1-for-3 with an RBI double and Taylor Forrester was 1-for-1 with two RBIs for the Bulldogs (21-3, 13-1). Madison County 7, Dacula 6 DACULA - Travis Blackburn's (4-3) four strikeouts with four earned runs in five innings was not enough for Dacula as it fell to Madison County 7-6 on Friday. Chad Burleson (2-for-3) and Ritchie Krawiec (2-for-4) each had two RBIs and Frankie Miller (1-for-1) had one RBI for the Falcons (17-8, 15-8). Wesleyan 9, Pace 0 Grayson Garvin (5-1) pitched six inning of one-hit baseball to lift Wesleyan over Pace 9-0 on Friday. Garvin struck out 11 and only walked one, while helping his own cause at the plate with a two-run homer. Kevin Ruiz went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and Andrew Donovan went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Wolves (17-4-1, 12-1 Region 6-AA). Athens Academy 6, Hebron 5 ATHENS - John Crawford went 3-for-4 with an RBI, but it wasn't enough for Hebron as it fell to Athens Academy 6-5 on Friday. Nick Dunn was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Ken Edwards was 1-for-3 with an RBI for Hebron (3-13). Killian Hill advances to GCA state finals LILBURN - Killian Hill used two big first innings to sweep Faith Baptist in the Georgia Christian Association state semifinals on Friday. In the first game, Killian Hill won 9-8, scoring six runs in the first inning. Winning pitcher Ryan Eagleson (6-0) hit a three-run homer in the first to spur the rally. Austen McCoy went 3-for-4 and also recorded the save. In Game 2, Killian Hill scored four runs in the first on its way to a 5-4 win. Aaron Parks (10-0) gave up two earned runs off five hits, striking out 2 in a complete game to get the win. At the plate, Parks when 1-for-4 with two RBIs, while McCoy was 3-for-4 in the second game for Killian Hill (17-0). Barrow County Christian 9, Westminster Christian 3 WINDER - Jacob Miesel went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and three stolen bases to lead Barrow Christian past Westminster Christian 9-3 on Friday. Nic Sridej and Zach Ellison each went 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI for Barrow Christian. - From staff reports To report scores, call 770-339-5850.
