Gwinnett Daily Post
DULUTH - Moms, wives and women of Gwinnett, leave the men at home. The Gwinnett Daily Post Women's Expo is just for the ladies.
Sponsored by Charter Communications and Gwinnett Medical Center, the expo will fill the Gwinnett Center next Saturday and Sunday with a complete lineup of activities, speakers and educational demonstrations. Oxygen will present "Fight Like a Girl," a women's self-defense demonstration Saturday, and Belk will sponsor a wedding guide fashion show Sunday. Meredith Baxter, former star of "Family Ties" and a breast cancer advocate, will headline the main stage both days. Other activities, such as samples from Super Suppers, information on area book clubs and booths from regional and national business, will be featured. A children's play area will be provided to keep the kids occupied. From noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, the Red Cross will conduct a blood drive, and throughout the weekend, Gwinnett Medical Center's Care-a-Van will be on hand to provide women with information on heart health as well as digital mammograms. Admission to the expo is $6, and $1 from every ticket sale will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation. Visit www.gwinnettdailypost.com or www.gdpwomensexpo.com.More like this story
