Even if an author lives right down the street from your house, you may not have realized it yet. Writers, who often work in their home offices either early in the morning or late at night, keep a pretty low profile.
Many successful authors make their homes in Gwinnett and the surrounding area - and maybe even live in your neighborhood. You'll have a chance to meet 10 local authors at the Gwinnett Daily Post Women's Expo on Saturday and April 29.
The authors will sign their works in the Writers Corner booth, which is sponsored by the Gwinnett Daily Post Book Club.
Stop by on Saturday to meet Patti Callahan Henry, the Norcross author known for her novels set in the lowcountry of Georgia and South Carolina, and Lisa McLeod, a Snellville writer whose column appears weekly in the Gwinnett Daily Post. McLeod's most recent book is "Finding Grace When You Can't Even Find Clean Underwear."
On Sunday, J.L. Miles of Lilburn will be signing copies of "Cold Rock River," a novel with a distinctly Southern voice. Augusta Trobaugh, who recently moved to Norcross, will also be at the Writers Corner on Sunday. Her latest book tells the story of the strong friendship between the ladies of "The Tea-Olive Bird Watching Society."
At the booth, avid readers can also find out more about the Gwinnett Daily Post Book Club, which meets monthly at the Collins Hill Library in Lawrenceville. In addition, those who stop by the Writers Corner can register to win a variety of books.
