NORCROSS - A 38-year-old Lawrenceville man was killed early Friday morning when the Prism he was driving collided with a tractor-trailer turning left on Jimmy Carter Boulevard.
The truck was traveling westbound at 5:48 a.m. on Jimmy Carter and was attempting to turn left onto Best Friend Road, said Cpl. Darren Moloney, Gwinnett County Police Department spokesman. The Prism was heading eastbound and was trying to cross the intersection, which had a traffic light, police said. Pending notification of next of kin, investigators are withholding the name of the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He was wearing a seat belt and was the sole occupant of the car. The tractor-trailer driver was a 38-year-old man from Snellville.
