NORCROSS - Firefighters estimate two bricklayers fell about 50 feet from a scaffold Tuesday afternoon while working on a Norcross home.
Lt. Thomas Rutledge, Gwinnett County Fire Department spokesman, said the workers were installing brick around a chimney on the back of a two-story house at Loblolly Trail in Norcross when the scaffolding collapsed. He said the home was being built in the newly constructed Reserve at Neely Farm subdivision.
Although not life-threatening, Rutledge said the men's injuries from the fall put them in the hospital.
Firefighters said the workers were alert when crews arrived shortly before 3 p.m., and were transported to North Fulton Medical Center in Roswell.
"Both were conscious and talking with firefighters when they arrived," Rutledge said.
Rutledge said the he could not release the names or other information about the men due to state privacy laws.
