Police continue search for stabbing suspects

NORCROSS - Police continue to look for two men in connection with Sunday's fatal stabbing of a 37-year-old man at the Stanford Village Apartments.

Police describe one suspect as a clean shaven black man in his 20s, 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 4 inches tall, with a medium build. The second suspect is also black, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, wearing glasses and weighing between 160 to 170 pounds.

The victim was identified as Demetrius Oscar Gomez.

"Prior to us getting a call, witnesses say Mr. Gomez was involved in an altercation with two men in a parking lot. One of the two men produced a knife and stabbed Mr. Gomez," said Capt. Brian Harr, a Norcross Police Department spokesman.

The suspects were seen leaving the complex off Beaver Ruin Road in a hunter green Infinity 30 or Nissan Maxima with a Georgia wildlife tag, license number BQ42WK.

"The victim apparently knew the suspects," Harr said. "This is not a stranger to stranger crime. The victim knew the two parties. ... What manner, we have not been able to determine."

Anyone with information on the case should call Detective Louie Athas or Sgt. Arthur Utset at 770-448-2111, or the police tip line at 770-448-6457.
